PRP Therapy: Does It Really Help After a Hair Transplant?

Where PRP can support recovery or scalp health, and where clinics tend to oversell it.

PRP Therapy: Does It Really Help After a Hair Transplant?

PRP is supportive, not magical

Platelet-rich plasma may support scalp quality, circulation signals, and parts of recovery, but it is not a shortcut to bypass surgical planning. When clinics present it as a miracle, scepticism is healthy.

Where it can make sense

PRP can be sensible when combined with aftercare, scalp health optimisation, or maintenance strategies in selected patients. Its role should be explained honestly and in context.

Why follow-up matters more than one injection

A single session rarely defines the whole recovery. The overall aftercare protocol, medication guidance, washing discipline, and communication with the clinic usually matter more than any single add-on.

How we discuss PRP with patients

We frame PRP as a supportive option, not a promise. In medicine, honest framing is part of quality.
